NATURE QUINTAINS

ARCTIC REMNANTS

The glossy icicles hang like Dracula's fangs
From the snowladen rooftop
Of the weathered farmhouse
Waiting to be released
From its glacial pull.

HALLOWED CREST

On a July afternoon
I roam the rugged mountains
Turning my eyes upwards
Into an azure sky of creamy clouds
As a lemon ball radiates its rays
Of celestial peace
Helping me ascend each peak
With greater clarity and vision.

HARMONIOUS HORIZON

A sliver of pink and blue
Criss-crossing the morning sky
In perfect unison
A destined mingling
Of femininity and masculinity.

PEACEFUL PASTURE

The auburn meadow
Beckons my bardly presence
To hear the harmonious chants
Of songbirds and buzzing bees
As I pensively read the words
Of Henry David Thoreau
To see the spontaneous fusion
Of God's creation
As it unfolds its majestic landscape
To smell the ambrosia scent
Of wild flowers and verdant grasses
To feel the tepid breeze
Tickling against my carnation cheeks
As I wander the vast countryside
To taste the succulent fruits
Of nature's abundant harvest
All of my senses
Are instantly unfurled
In this rustic panorama
Of beauty and tranquility.

PLACID SHORES

Sitting down at the picnic table
Eating a cinnamon bun
I stare at the coral horizon
Of the abandoned beach
Not a single seagull cries
As the sea rouses from its nautical snooze.

PROPELLER OF GRACE

Butterflies flutter their motley wings
As they glide through the steamy air
Of the summer greenhouse
Perching on verdant fronds
Or landing on shoulders of flower-gazing spectators
Flitting from blossom to blossom
Tasting the sweet nectar
Of honeysuckles and hollyhocks
Azaleas and asters
Lilacs and violets
Occasionally stopping for refreshment
In the sparkling blue pond
Where turtles and goldfish retreat
Then gradually they glide back
To the graceful rhythm of nature's flight.

RUSHING RIVULET

Water cascades down the tranquil stream
Pouring the pebbles and rocks
With its constant flow of refreshment
Trickling its way down toward the inlet
To mingle with nature's raging rapids.

STRAND OF FORTUNE

She saunters along the soaring surf
Carrying her blue beach pail
Searching for seashells and nautical creatures
Carefully picking up each delicate treasure
In her small pink palms
Then gently placing them in her oceanic purse
She gallops back to her ocean front cottage
Showcasing every last piece of sacred plankton
On her bedroom shelves.

THICKET OF RESONANCE

The wilderness resounds in bestial melody
Humming the vernal notes of emerald abundance
As my footsteps dance upon the lush turf
Of this hidden hollow
Together we compose nature's symphony.

WAVELENGTHS OF WONDER

I catch glimpses of a rainbow
Sparkling in the sun
After a heavy rain storm
Luminating the overcast sky
With a brilliant arch of prismatic colors
Washing the earth with serene beauty.
